Google is nearing the release of its upcoming Android operating system, Android 16, which is expected to enter the platform stability phase, with a stable release scheduled for Q2, 2025. As the development process continues, a recent report suggests that the next major Android platform may introduce a more customizable Quick settings feature.
According to leaked information via a Telegram video, Google has added several options that will enable Android users to personalize their Android 16 Quick Settings. This information was initially reported on a technology news website.
In comparison to previous capabilities, Google has made significant changes and enhancements to the Quick Settings. The new feature will allow users to resize and rearrange tiles, as well as remove unwanted tiles more efficiently, eliminating the need to drag tiles to the bottom of the screen to remove them.
Aside from this, there appear to be no other notable changes or major features added at this time. However, since Android 16 is still in its early development stage, Google can make changes before releasing the stable version of Android 16, which will initially be available on Pixel devices, followed by other Android smartphones from manufacturers like Samsung.
Additionally, Android 16 Beta 2 introduced some interesting camera features and customizations. It is possible that Google’s Android 16 will receive additional tweaks and improvements in the future.
