Google is introducing an innovative AI co-scientist today, a cutting-edge system built on Gemini 2.0, aimed at assisting scientists in generating novel hypotheses and research plans. By utilizing natural language, researchers can define a specific research objective, such as gaining a deeper understanding of the spread of a disease-causing microbe. The AI co-scientist will then propose testable hypotheses, accompanied by a summary of relevant published literature and a potential experimental approach.
