Supporting Regenerative Agriculture

Google has committed $1.5 million to a regenerative agriculture initiative in partnership with Indigo Ag. The goal of this program is to restore an estimated 1.5 billion gallons of water in Oklahoma over the next seven years. To achieve this, local farmers in the Arkansas-Keystone and Lower Cimarron Basins in North-Central Oklahoma will be supported in adopting sustainable practices such as cover cropping and no-till farming.

This initiative will enhance soil-water retention, increase groundwater levels, and improve crop resilience, ultimately creating healthier farming ecosystems that require less water for irrigation. By supporting this program, Google is reaffirming its commitment to replenish 120% of its freshwater consumption, on average, across offices and data centers by 2030. Furthermore, it promotes watershed health in the communities where Google operates, contributing to a more sustainable future.
