For individuals who receive a large volume of emails, locating a specific older message in their inbox can be a daunting task. To address this issue, Google has opted to harness the power of artificial intelligence. The company has announced the rollout of an update that utilizes AI to evaluate inbox search queries, taking into account factors such as recency, frequent contacts, and most-clicked emails. The “most relevant” search feature is being introduced globally for personal accounts, with business accounts scheduled to receive it at a later, unspecified date.

For those who are hesitant about the increasing presence of AI in their software, it’s worth noting that the use of this feature is not mandatory. Google has confirmed that once a personal account has access to the “most relevant” search results option, a toggle will be available to switch back to the “most recent” view, which displays results in reverse chronological order as usual.

On the other hand, individuals who are enthusiastic about AI technology will be pleased to know that Google has been integrating it into various aspects of its services. In fact, this month alone has seen the introduction of AI in several areas of Google’s and portals.
