Introducing Gemini’s Enhanced Chat Functionality

Improved Response Capabilities

As of today, Gemini can now access your past chats to provide more informed responses. Whether you’re asking about a topic you’ve previously discussed or requesting a summary of a previous conversation, Gemini will leverage relevant chats to craft a more comprehensive answer.

This update eliminates the need to start over from scratch or sift through previous conversation threads. Gemini allows users to build upon existing discussions or projects, streamlining communication and promoting productivity.

Control Over Your Chat History

You have full control over the information stored in your chat history. You can review, delete, or decide how long to retain each conversation. For added convenience, you can also disable Gemini’s activity logs entirely by visiting the ‘My Activity’ section.

Transparency and Notification

Gemini will occasionally indicate when it’s referencing your past chats in its responses or related content. This feature is currently available to Gemini Advanced subscribers on the Google One AI Premium Plan via the Gemini web and mobile app.

Availability and Expansion

This feature is initially rolling out in English to Gemini Advanced subscribers. Over the coming weeks, it will be expanded to more languages and implemented in Google Workspace Business and Enterprise accounts.
