Samsung is preparing to unveil its next-generation Galaxy S26 series, with reports suggesting that the company plans to discontinue the Plus model in favor of the Edge variant.

Earlier this year, Samsung released the Galaxy S25 series, which included the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. The company has also recently launched the Galaxy S25 Edge and is expected to launch the Galaxy S25 FE soon. The Galaxy S26 series is slated for release in early 2026, and it may feature the Galaxy S26 Edge instead of the Plus model.

Samsung May Replace ‘Plus’ with ‘Edge’ Variant in Upcoming Galaxy S26 Series

A recent report from The Elec indicates that Samsung will replace the Plus model in the Galaxy S26 series with the lighter and slimmer Edge model. This decision is reportedly due to the declining sales of the Plus device in recent years, compared to the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

It was recently reported that the Galaxy S25 Ultra has outsold the base and Plus models combined. According to sales data, the Ultra variant accounted for 17.4 million units, while the base variant registered 13.6 million units. In contrast, the Plus variant only accounted for 6.7 million units in sales.

However, it is still early to confirm this development, as Samsung has not made an official statement regarding this report. As a result, it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold.
