Samsung has rolled out the stable Android 15-based One UI 7 update to the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 in nearly all regions. However, this update has been found to cause a significant battery life crisis on these devices.

Following the upgrade to One UI 7, numerous Galaxy S24 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 users have reported that they are experiencing rapid battery drain, which is characterized by the battery losing power at an unusually fast rate.

Many users have taken to social media platforms, including Samsung’s support forums and Reddit, to report the battery issue they are facing after installing the major One UI 7 update. For instance, a Galaxy Z Fold 6 user shared their battery experience on Reddit, stating that their battery life has decreased significantly, with them now ending the day with only 20-25% battery remaining, down from the previous 45-50%. Similarly, Galaxy S24 smartphone users are also encountering the same battery drainage issue after upgrading to the One UI 7 update.

It’s worth noting that battery drain after a major update is not uncommon, as devices often consume more power in the background due to optimization processes. Typically, the battery’s performance returns to normal once the device has optimized the user’s usage pattern.

At present, Samsung has not made any official statement regarding the battery drainage issue affecting the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 smartphones. It remains to be seen whether the company will take measures to address this issue or if it will resolve itself after optimization.
