As the One UI 7 rollout continues to make headlines, the newly-released Beta 4 is now available for Galaxy S24 series owners in all eligible regions. At the same time, Samsung is also focusing on delivering the February 2025 security update to Galaxy devices, with the 2023 flagships starting to receive the patch in the USA.
Carrier-locked Galaxy S23 Series Receives February 2025 Security Update in the USA
The February 2025 security update rollout is currently underway, and it has been spotted for the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra, specifically for carrier-locked units (T-Mobile, MetroPCS, USCellular, Spectrum mobile, and Dish Wireless) in the US, at least for now.
The update for all three models is identified by the S911USQU5CYB1, S916USQU5CYB1, and S918USQU5CYB1 build numbers.
Like any other security patch, the February update doesn’t introduce major features or changes, but it is essential for ensuring the device runs smoothly by incorporating fixes for security vulnerabilities identified by Google and Samsung, which were present in the previous version, while also protecting the device against potential threats.
Additionally, the update enhances the overall system behavior and performance by bringing several performance optimizations, resulting in a smooth and stable device functionality.
Meanwhile, Samsung is currently rolling out the February patch for the carrier-locked Galaxy S23 series, and it will gradually reach carrier-unlocked devices and other eligible regions shortly.
