Samsung’s Galaxy AI Revolutionizes One UI with Writing Assist
Samsung’s Galaxy AI plays a pivotal role in offering substantial modifications to its software skin, One UI. Alongside various other AI-powered features, including Chat Assist, Summarize, and Transcript, the Writing Assist is the most significant factor.
Breaking Free from Keyboard Restrictions
With One UI 7, Samsung is now allowing Writing Assist to be used without being confined to the Samsung Keyboard. This change comes after acknowledging that Samsung Keyboard behaves inconsistently and often lacks desired elements, making the entire Galaxy AI less effective.
Enhancing Galaxy AI Features
Samsung has made significant changes to the behavior of Writing Assist, enabling the most significant Galaxy AI features to be available outside of Samsung Keyboard. This means users no longer require Samsung’s own Keyboard to utilize Writing Assist, as third-party keyboards like Google’s GBoard can easily do the job.
Using Writing Assist on Non-Samsung Keyboards
When using the Writing Assist tool on a keyboard other than Samsung Keyboard, with One UI 7, users will notice a Galaxy AI logo being flashed alongside other options when highlighting the text. Tapping on this logo will open up a few Galaxy AI features of One UI 7. Alternatively, users can long-press on an empty text area and tap on the Galaxy AI icon to access Writing Assist.
Availability and Future Updates
The Galaxy S25 series will be the first to benefit from these changes, with the ability of Writing Assist being limited to One UI 7. However, this feature is expected to be featured in the Galaxy S24 lineup models alongside those smartphones that are eligible for the latest Android skin.
