Samsung’s Upcoming Mid-Range Device: Galaxy A56

Samsung is working on its upcoming mid-range device, the Galaxy A56, which is anticipated to be slightly difficult to repair as compared to its predecessor.

Debut and Successor

Samsung will debut the Galaxy A56 as the successor to the current Galaxy A55 sometime in the second quarter of the year. The upcoming smartphone is expected to be slightly harder to repair as compared to its predecessor.

Repairability Score

France’s repairability scoring system revealed that the Galaxy A56 scored 8.4 out of 10, whereas the older Galaxy A55 scored 8.5. Although it’s a slight difference, it seems to be a countable one. The score breaks down into various categories, including the ‘ease of disassembly,’ in which the Galaxy A56 scored 5.0 compared to the Galaxy A55’s 5.8. This little fall brings the Galaxy A56 back to the same stage as the old Galaxy A54, which also scored 8.4 in the test.

AI-Powered Tools and Android Updates

It’s expected that Samsung will offer AI-powered tools to the Galaxy A56, as it hints at a few AI features coming to the Galaxy A series. Reportedly, the in-house Exynos 1580 chipset is capable enough to handle at least the basic AI functions, such as on-device text summarization and basic photo editing, such as object eraser. A report from GalaxyClub says that the Korean tech giant will promise six years of Android updates for the Galaxy A56, making it the most sustainable Galaxy A phone yet. The device is expected to cost approximately between €450 and €500 for the base version.
