Samsung has recently introduced a new addition to its lineup, the Galaxy A36 5G, which is ideal for those who don’t want to spend a thousand dollars or more on a device. This smartphone is designed for individuals who only need the basics, such as calling, texting, browsing social media, accessing banking information, and taking photos. It performs these tasks sufficiently well.

To celebrate the launch, Samsung is offering a promotional deal where you can save up to $150 by trading in your old smartphone. This means you can get the new Galaxy A36 5G for $249, down from the original price of $399, after trading in your old device. This is an excellent opportunity to upgrade to a brand new 2025 model phone at a significantly lower cost.

Despite being an entry-level smartphone, the Galaxy A36 5G boasts an impressive 6.7-inch super AMOLED display that refreshes at 60 to 120 Hz. Although it may not be as bright as the Galaxy S25, with a peak brightness of 1200 nits, and lacks an anti-reflective screen coating, this is a minor compromise considering the significant cost savings. You may need to adjust your screen viewing on sunny days, but this is not a major issue.

The camera setup on the Galaxy A36 5G is satisfactory, featuring three lenses on the back, including a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 50MP main camera, and a 5MP macro camera for capturing close-up images. Additionally, the 12MP front camera is perfect for taking selfies and making video calls.

To reduce costs, Samsung has opted for a plastic casing on the Galaxy A36 5G, which has a body thickness of 7.4mm. While it may not be as premium as the thin armor aluminum design of the S25, you can easily protect it with a case. The screen, made from Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, is durable and resistant to scratches.

Long-lasting Battery

Interestingly, the Galaxy A36 5G has a more powerful battery than the Galaxy S25, which starts at twice the price. The Galaxy S25 has a 4,000mAh battery, whereas the Galaxy A36 5G boasts a 5,000mAh battery. Although it doesn’t support wireless charging, the traditional plug-in method is more reliable and charges faster at 45W.

For a limited time, you can save up to $150 by trading in your old smartphone. Furthermore, when you purchase the Galaxy A36 5G, you’ll be eligible for up to 60% off a new pair of Galaxy Fit3, Galaxy BudsFE, or Galaxy Watch FE, which could result in additional savings of up to $98.
