Following the release of the February 2025 security update for carrier-locked Galaxy S21 series devices in the US, Samsung is now rolling out the same patch for unlocked units. 

The latest update for the 2021 flagship S-series devices, including the S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra, carries the build numbers G991U1UESEGYA5, G996U1UESEGYA5, and G998U1UESEGYA5, respectively. You can find more information about the February 2025 update on our website.

Although the update does not introduce any new features or changes, it prioritizes enhancing the device’s overall security and core functionality. It incorporates numerous fixes for security vulnerabilities addressed in the previous version, providing a safer and more secure experience for users while protecting the device from potential threats. 

Additionally, the update promotes a stable and efficient performance by adding stability to the overall system behavior and introducing several performance optimizations. 

Currently, Samsung is distributing the security patch to all Galaxy S21 series owners with carrier-unlocked devices in the US. However, the timeline for the release of the stable One UI 7, which runs Android 15, remains uncertain.
