On Thursday, eBay revealed that it has revamped its platform to facilitate the discovery of fast-shipping items and local listings, leveraging enhancements to Search item cards and expanded AI integration.

To make it simpler for buyers to identify items with rapid delivery! the company has modified search item cards to display estimated delivery timeframes for all fast shipping items.

Furthermore, a “shipping and pickup” filter has been introduced, enabling customers to find items with expedited shipping times and those available for local pickup. eBay has also updated item cards to display the estimated driving time from the buyer’s location to the item’s location.

Historically, eBay’s global and decentralized seller network posed challenges for predictive models to provide accurate shipping and delivery estimates. However, the company has invested in AI technology to address this issue by considering factors such as the buyer’s proximity to the item, the selected shipping service, the seller’s shipping history, and real-time data synchronization.

Consequently, the platform can now provide more accurate delivery estimates, according to eBay.

Additionally, eBay has introduced a “Top-Service” badge in Germany, designed to help customers easily identify items that meet high-quality standards, such as those with fast and free shipping, free returns, and trusted sellers.

“These updates mark a significant milestone in our commitment to delivering a seamless and efficient shopping experience,” eBay stated in a blog post.

By enhancing its user experience, eBay aims to remain competitive with other e-commerce platforms, such as Amazon and Etsy, while attracting more users and simplifying navigation on its platform.
