Fans of the popular video game Devil May Cry have numerous reasons to be excited about the upcoming television series adaptation, particularly with the release of its new trailer. However, be prepared for the early 2000s hit “Last Resort” by Papa Roach to be stuck in your head for days, as it accompanies a two-minute sneak peek showcasing Dante and his twin brother Vergil.

This sneak peek offers several notable takeaways, with one of the most entertaining moments being when Lady rips off Dante’s shirt, prompting him to respond, “Ripped and irresistible dream boat, I know. You still can’t just tear a guy’s clothes off.” The blend of lighthearted dialogue and action-packed sequences generates significant excitement for the Devil May Cry series.

A television adaptation of Capcom’s Devil May Cry has been in development for several years. Although we received a teaser in 2023, it was only in January that we learned that the series will premiere on Netflix on April 3. The animated series, produced by Korean company Studio Mir, marks the second attempt at a Devil May Cry television show, following a 12-episode anime that aired in Japan in 2007.

For those unfamiliar with the video game, Netflix’s synopsis for the Devil May Cry TV series provides a useful introduction: “Sinister forces are at play at the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon hunter for hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.”
