Following a major loss in Wisconsin’s state Supreme Court election, where Elon Musk invested $20 million in a failed attempt to elect a MAGA judge, there are growing concerns that his time in the White House may be limited due to President Donald Trump’s dwindling patience. Specifically, reports suggest that Trump’s patience is wearing thin after Musk’s efforts resulted in a 10-point loss on Tuesday. However, Democratic Party leaders, who view Musk as a liability for the Republican Party, are encouraging him to continue his involvement in their campaigns.

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) held a press conference on Wednesday to celebrate their victory in Wisconsin and invited Musk to maintain his public presence in the Republican Party. DNC Chair Ken Martin stated, “Elon Musk should be deployed to every state to campaign, as he is currently a significant asset to Democrats. The American people are frustrated with his actions since Donald Trump’s inauguration, so the more he wants to campaign, the better for us. We’d love to see him in other states.” Martin’s sentiments were echoed by the Chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, Ben Wikler, who noted the devastating impact of Musk’s leadership as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which has dismantled federal agencies like USAID and fired tens of thousands of federal workers.

Wikler emphasized that Musk’s involvement with Republican candidates is “the kiss of death” due to his administration’s attacks on Social Security, unions, and the Veterans Administration, which are traditionally considered political suicide. Despite this, Wikler expressed a desire for Musk to remain in the White House, potentially indicating that the Democratic Party is focusing too much on election optics rather than the substance of Musk’s destructive policies. Wikler stated, “I hope he stays in the White House with Donald Trump, attends cabinet meetings, and takes photos with every Republican House and Senate member.” However, this stance may not align with the party’s long-term goals, as Musk’s continued involvement in day-to-day decision-making could have severe consequences.

Wikler later clarified his statement, suggesting that Musk should be stripped of his power and become a figurehead for the Trump regime’s midterm elections. “Elon Musk should be removed from any position of power over the federal government as soon as possible. The damage he’s causing to institutions that serve families across the country is horrific. He’s gutting the Social Security Administration and the Veterans Administration.” This sentiment is shared by other Democrats, who are starting to push back against Musk’s influence. For example, Rep. Jamie Raskin, ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, sent a letter to FBI Director Kash Patel requesting an investigation into Musk’s ties to China, given his history of interfering with global politics.

Ultimately, while Musk may be hurting the Republican Party’s electoral prospects, his continued presence in the White House poses a significant threat to the country.
