Introduction to Death Stranding 2

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is slated for release on PlayStation 5 on June 26. A 10-minute trailer was unveiled at SXSW by Kojima Productions, offering the most comprehensive look yet at the sequel to the 2019 game, Death Stranding. Pre-orders will commence on March 17 at 10 AM local time. Buyers of the Digital Deluxe or Collector’s Edition will receive early access two days before the official release.

Game Details and Cast

Hideo Kojima, accompanied by Norman Reedus and Troy Baker, discussed the highly anticipated game at SXSW 2025. The trailer reveals that Death Stranding 2 takes place 11 months after the establishment of the United Cities of America. As previously shown, Reedus reprises his role as Sam, alongside Léa Seydoux as the voice of Fragile, and Baker as Higgs. The 10-minute video introduces a plethora of new characters joining the cast, showcasing the game’s expansive universe.

Previous Announcements and Release

Death Stranding 2 was first announced in 2022. Last year, PlayStation’s State of Play provided a 9-minute glimpse into the game. With the summer release approaching, fans will finally have the opportunity to play the game.

Pre-Order Information

Pre-orders for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach are now available, with the Digital Deluxe and Collector’s Edition offering early access. The game can be pre-ordered on the PlayStation Store for $70.
