Recently, it was announced that the next installment in Batman’s ongoing story will be directed by Matt Fraction and Jorge Jiménez. However, before that, the iconic hero will face off against a familiar foe in the upcoming comic book series Batman: Hush 2 (also referred to as H2SH in the logo).

The story arc, which spans 12 issues, will be written by Jeph Loeb and illustrated by Jim Lee, with Scott Williams handling the inks and Richard Starkings providing the lettering. The original Hush series, released in 2002, was widely acclaimed, and the recent trailer for the sequel aims to generate excitement through animated panels of Lee and Williams’ artwork. As for the plot of Hush 2, it involves Batman confronting his childhood friend-turned-nemesis Tommy Elliott once again, but Loeb and Lee are keeping the details under wraps. Previously, Loeb hinted that this sequel would “resolve the Hush saga once and for all,” although in the world of comics, such statements should be taken with a grain of salt.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Absolute Batman was the top-selling comic book of 2024, and DC is hoping that Hush 2 will be one of the best-selling books of 2025. The collected editions of the original Batman: Hush have consistently been a top seller for DC over the years, and the company gave the sequel significant attention during the ComicsPro industry meeting in February. This confidence is evident in the trailer, which features Lee and Loeb walking in slow motion to sit together and describes the upcoming story as “the most anticipated sequel in comics history.”

The Hush 2 story will begin in Batman #158 on March 26 and conclude its first part with Batman #163 in August. The second part of the story will be released at a later date.
