Introduction to Bowers & Wilkins’ Latest Release

Bowers & Wilkins has unveiled its newest pair of high-end wireless headphones, the Px7 S3. This latest offering appears to be an improvement over its predecessor in every significant aspect. The company refers to it as the "most advanced wireless headphone" it has ever produced.

Advanced Features and Technology

The Px7 S3 boasts re-engineered drive units, dedicated headphones amplifiers, and significantly upgraded active noise cancellation technology. According to Bowers & Wilkins, every aspect of these headphones has been redesigned, with the exception of the cone. The new drive units are expected to enhance resolution and dynamics while reducing distortion. These units are powered by discrete headphones amplifiers, a first for the company’s over-ear headphone line.

Video Introduction

High-Resolution Audio and Integration

The Px7 S3 is compatible with both the aptX TM Adaptive 24/96 wireless platform and Qualcomm’s aptX Lossless technology, optimizing sound quality for high-resolution streaming services like Tidal. The headphones offer 24-bit/96kHz high-resolution audio, providing an exceptional listening experience.

Microphones and ANC

These headphones feature eight microphones located around the periphery of each ear cup, working together to deliver enhanced ANC and eliminate unwanted noise during phone calls. Bowers & Wilkins claims that the battery life can last up to 30 hours per charge, although real-world performance remains to be seen.

Design and Physical Features

The physical design of the Px7 S3 has undergone a significant overhaul, with a slimmer profile and improved fit thanks to memory foam ear cups. The included carry case is also more compact, making it easier to transport.

Bowers & Wilkins Music App

The company has redesigned its Music app to accompany the release of the Px7 S3. The app provides instantaneous access to platforms like Tidal and includes a five-band EQ with preset memory. For those who prefer not to use the app, physical controls are available on each ear cup. Spatial audio is expected to be added to the device later this year.

Availability and Pricing

The Px7 S3 headphones will be available in three colors: black, blue, and white. Although Bowers & Wilkins has not officially announced pricing and availability, a notification page suggests that they may be priced at $429 upon release. However, this is subject to change due to ongoing uncertainty regarding tariffs.
