Daredevil is set to be Born Again next week, and details about its upcoming season are already emerging, including new cast members.

According to Deadline, Matthew Lillard will join the show in its second season, marking his debut in the MCU and continuing his recent resurgence. In addition to the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s sequel, Lillard is also expected to appear as Stu Macher in 2026’s Scream 7, as well as being part of Amazon’s Cross and Mike Flanagan’s Life of Chuck. Lillard’s role in Daredevil is currently under wraps, leaving room for speculation.

Production on the second season of Born Again, which will consist of eight episodes, is expected to commence shortly. Although the show was initially commissioned for two seasons, it remains to be seen whether Marvel will choose to continue it beyond that. Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum has expressed a desire for more yearly shows like Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, but the studio is also cautious about continuing every series it has in development.

During the show’s press tour, Charlie Cox shared with Collider that what he’s read of the second season includes “some of my favorite stuff I’ve read. […] What [showrunner Dario Scardapane] has done so far with this new season is so cool and so different and so sinister, and I’m really, really excited about it.”

First, the first season of Daredevil: Born Again is set to premiere on March 4. Our thoughts on the show will follow soon.
