A significant transformation may be underway for Apple’s Health app, driven by artificial intelligence. According to a newsletter by Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman, Apple is developing a more comprehensive Health app, codenamed Project Mulberry. This overhaul includes plans to integrate an AI agent designed to mimic a doctor, serving as a personal health advisor. The app is expected to provide lifestyle recommendations based on user health data and feature educational videos from actual doctors covering a range of health topics.
The revamped Health app will also prioritize food tracking and may offer workout form correction tips using the device’s camera, as reported by Gurman. This service, informally known as Health+, is anticipated to launch with iOS 19.4, scheduled for release next spring or summer. In preparation, Apple has enlisted the help of doctors to train the AI agent and is planning to establish a studio near Oakland, California, to produce content. Furthermore, Gurman suggests that Health+ might debut with a notable celebrity doctor as its face, as Apple is reportedly seeking a “major doctor personality” to endorse the service.
