According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is facing challenges in revamping Siri to keep pace with the advancements in generative AI. The company may not unveil a fully modernized and conversational version of Siri until the release of iOS 20 in 2027.

However, significant updates to Siri are expected before then. A revamped version of Siri is slated to launch in May, which will finally integrate the Apple Intelligence features announced nearly a year ago, as reported by TechCrunch.

Gurman describes the upcoming version of Siri as having a dual-functionality, with one component handling traditional commands such as setting timers and making calls, and the other catering to more complex queries that utilize user data. A unified system, internally referred to as “LLM Siri,” is expected to be announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June, with a launch scheduled for spring 2026.

As stated by Gurman, only after the introduction of this unified system will Apple be able to fully focus on developing Siri’s advanced capabilities, which may be rolled out in the following year, as initially reported by Bloomberg.
