According to a report by The Information, which cited supply chain sources, Apple intends to stagger the release of its iPhone 18 series, anticipated in 2026, by approximately six months.
As outlined in the report, the Pro models of the iPhone 18 are slated for release in the fall of 2026. In contrast, the more affordable iPhone 18, along with an updated version of the iPhone 16e, is expected to be launched in the spring of 2027. Furthermore, the report suggests that a new foldable iPhone may also be unveiled in the fall of 2026.
In addition to the iPhone 18 series, Apple is rumored to be launching a thinner version of its smartphone, allegedly named the “iPhone 17 Air“, this year, as reported by Bloomberg. The Information also noted that a successor to this model is expected to be released in 2026.
The report by The Information further stated that Apple plans to test the production of more affordable iPhone 18 models in India, aiming to reduce its dependence on China for manufacturing. This move is likely in response to the impact of Trump’s tariffs on the company’s margins, as previously mentioned.
