Upcoming Apple Devices

According to a recent newsletter by Mark Gurman on Bloomberg, Apple is poised to release at least two devices equipped with the upcoming M5 chip before the year’s end. Gurman’s report indicates that the M5 iPad Pro has progressed to the final stages of testing, positioning it for production in the second half of this year. Additionally, the M5 MacBook Pro is expected to debut in the fall, consistent with the release timing of the past few years.

Future Developments

This year’s iPad Pro model is unlikely to incorporate Apple’s in-house modem. As per Gurman’s insights, the integration of Apple’s proprietary modem is anticipated to occur in 2027, coinciding with the introduction of the M6 models. Notably, Apple has commenced preliminary work on these M6 models. The company unveiled its first in-house cellular modem, the C1, with the iPhone 16e in February. Initial benchmarks suggest that this custom-designed modem is performing surprisingly well, as reported by Engadget.
