Android Auto 14.2 has been available in beta for some time, but the latest build has now been released to the stable channel.
Google’s Android Auto is widely regarded as the most trusted driving companion, enabling users to connect their Android smartphones to their car’s built-in system and reducing the risk of accidents by minimizing distractions while driving.
Google has begun rolling out the stable version of Android Auto 14.2 to users worldwide. Notably, the stable build introduces a significant new feature.
A new button has been added, serving as a quick command button that allows users to return to the car’s infotainment system’s main UI. This button is identified by a small pill-shaped bar featuring a downward-facing arrow.
Aside from the quick command button, the latest Android Auto update does not bring any major changes or overhauls.
However, Google has introduced various changes and features to the Android Auto platform, including the integration of certain Android games that can be played when the vehicle is parked, as well as the ability to navigate using smart glasses while driving (although this feature is still uncertain). Android Auto is impressive, but Samsung also offers a similar platform called Samsung Auto, which is currently exclusive to China.
