Android Auto has now reached a stable version of 14.0, and in parallel, Google has begun rolling out the Android Auto 14.1 update to users, which is currently in its beta phase. This update can be accessed through the beta channel.
Google Introduces Android Auto 14.1 Beta Version
As a smart driving companion, Android Auto mirrors the user’s Android device onto the car’s infotainment system. The latest 14.1 beta update has started to roll out, and surprisingly, it adds support for playing Android games, according to reports from 9To5Google.
In the Android Auto 14.1 beta version, it has been discovered through a video that several Android games are displayed on the car’s dashboard. The games include Beach Buggy Racing, Candy Crush Soda Saga, Angry Birds 2, and Farm Heroes Saga.
A key point to note is that these games are only accessible when the vehicle is stationary. Once the car is in motion, the gaming apps will be disabled, and any currently played game will automatically close. Additionally, the update introduces a new system that allows Android Auto apps to be viewed in full-screen mode. To exit full-screen mode, users need to perform a swipe gesture from the top of the screen to access the Exit button.
There is currently no information on when the Android game support will be available for the stable Android Auto 14.1 build. However, if this feature extends to the platform, it could significantly enhance user entertainment. Given that Google has just released the stable Android Auto 14 version, it may take some time for the company to launch the stable Android Auto 14.1 build, as it is currently in the beta channel.
