Google’s upcoming operating system, Android 16, has reached the platform stability phase with the release of Beta 3 last week, bringing it closer to its official launch. Shortly after, a new Beta 3.1 update has been made available for Pixel devices.

Following the release of Android 16 Beta 3, Google identified several significant bugs and subsequently released a x.1 build to address these issues with important bug fixes.

Google announced on Reddit that a new Android 16 Beta 3.1 build is now rolling out to eligible Pixel devices. This update focuses on resolving severe bugs and incorporates the March 2025 security patch to ensure a smooth and secure user experience.

The latest Beta 3.1 build specifically addresses issues such as the system settings app crashing, excessive battery drain due to high CPU load, and inconsistencies between app-specified screen brightness settings and system-specific screen brightness settings.

As Google’s Android 16 progresses towards its stability stage, with a planned release in June 2025, Samsung is also working to expedite the rollout of its One UI 7 to eligible Galaxy devices. This will enable Samsung to begin development on One UI 8, which will run on Android 16.
