Among Us VR has experienced significant success since its initial release in 2022. The game’s developers, Innersloth and Schell Games, have now announced plans to rework the title for traditional PC players, renaming it Among Us 3D. This new version can be played without a VR headset and will be available on Steam in the near future.

The core gameplay of the original remains intact in Among Us 3D, but it now features a first-person perspective. Essentially, it offers a new way to sabotage your friends and family. The game supports four to ten players and includes native proximity voice chat, eliminating the need for a third-party platform. All the original minigames are returning, along with some new ones, although Innersloth is withholding details on the new additions for now.

Among Us 3D features crossplay with Among Us VR, but not with the original Among Us game. While this may be disappointing, it’s understandable given the differences between the versions. However, the game will offer an expanded costume selection, allowing for “an endless number of cosmetic customization combinations.” A new in-game currency, Stardust, will presumably be used to purchase these outfits.

A specific release date for Among Us 3D has not been announced, aside from it being “soon.” However, a demo will be available to US players during Steam Next Fest, which runs from February 24 to March 3. Preorders for the full game are already live on Steam.

This announcement is the latest in a series of exciting developments from Innersloth. The company recently revealed a publishing arm called Outersloth. Additionally, an Among Us cartoon is in the works, expected to be released soon.
