The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 is creating enormous excitement, but potential buyers who haven’t preordered yet should be aware that stock levels are already extremely low at most retailers. Due to limited allocations, not all customers will be able to secure a unit at launch. Among the few stores that regularly restock, Walmart is one of the only retailers still accepting preorders, offering additional benefits that make it the top choice.

Preorders will commence on April 24 at midnight Eastern Time (12:00 a.m. ET), which is equivalent to 9:00 p.m. Pacific Time on April 23. This sale allows gamers across the country to place orders from the comfort of their own homes, but be aware that demand is extremely high, and most retailers will sell out instantly. Walmart has a consistent supply of both the standard Nintendo Switch 2 console for $449 and the Mario Kart World bundle for $499, guaranteeing delivery on the launch day, June 5.

Launch Day Delivery

What sets Walmart apart from other retailers is its guarantee of launch-day delivery, which is set for June 5. Customers who preorder through Walmart by 8 a.m. local time on June 4 will receive their console delivered for free by 9 a.m. local time on June 5 – the launch day. This guarantee is particularly valuable, given that many other retailers cannot promise launch-day delivery due to low inventory. If you want to avoid the frustration of waiting in long lines or dealing with indefinite shipping dates, Walmart is an excellent choice.

The Nintendo Switch 2 console comes with everything needed for a seamless gaming experience: the box includes the console, Joy-Con 2 controllers (left and right), Joy-Con 2 Grip, Joy-Con 2 Straps, Nintendo Switch 2 Dock, ultra-high-speed HDMI cable, AC adapter, and a USB-C charging cable. This means you can start playing right away without needing to purchase additional accessories.

As expected, the Switch 2 is a significant upgrade from the original, featuring a larger, crisper 7.9-inch 1080p display for handheld play and 4K output when docked to a TV, offering stunning visuals, along with HDR support. The console also boasts improved processing capabilities for smoother gameplay and faster load times, along with enhanced audio for a better overall experience.

Given the exceptionally high demand and limited supplies, most retailers will sell out shortly after preorders open. Walmart is one of the few places still accepting preorders, but be sure to secure yours before they run out of stock, as is the case in the UK. If you want to reserve your place among the first to receive the Switch 2 when it’s released on June 5, your best bet is to act quickly and choose Walmart.
