Google’s upcoming operating system, Android 16, is nearing its release at a faster pace than anticipated. The company has confirmed that the latest version is on track for a June 2025 rollout, as previously reported. Meanwhile, Pixel owners are currently testing Android 16 beta 2.1, which addresses several frustrating bugs, and the company has announced that beta 3 will be arriving today.

The Android Developers team took to X to inform users that another beta channel of Android 16, specifically Android 16 Beta 3, will be released today, March 13th.

As a result, it is expected that the third beta channel of Android 16 will focus on introducing user-friendly changes and resolving several crucial bugs and issues.

Google initiated the Android 16 journey by releasing the first beta channel, which introduced useful enhancements and features such as Adaptive App, followed by the Beta 2 build, which integrated various exciting camera features and customizations, including ultra HDR and motion photos.

Additionally, Google released an updated Android 16 beta 2.1 version, aiming to fix several important bugs and issues identified in the previous version.

With Android 16 Beta 3 set to commence today for all eligible Pixel smartphones, and if the OS development process maintains its current pace, Google’s next major OS appears to be on track for a stable rollout in Q2, 2025, for the entire Android ecosystem.
