TCL Unveils New QM7K Mini-LED TV
TCL has recently introduced a new addition to its Precise Dimming Series, the QM7K Mini-LED TV, which follows the launch of the QM6K model. The QM7K boasts the company’s Halo Control Technology Suite, a collection of enhancements aimed at improving the dimming and picture quality of its Mini LEDs.
Improved Picture Quality and Brightness
The QM7K offers higher peak brightness than its predecessors, along with a new anti-reflective panel. TCL promises enhanced color accuracy, gray scale accuracy, and virtually no blooming, thanks to its Super High Energy LED Chip and Super Condensed Micro Lens. The Super High Energy LED Chip combines high brightness with increased light efficiency, while the Super Condensed Micro Lens utilizes a narrower light path for more precise control.

Additionally, the newly-enhanced technology minimizes the optical distance between the backlight and the diffuser, eliminating blooming, reducing the halo effect, and avoiding LED light overlap. The new features, in conjunction with the anti-reflective panel, create a picture with better contrast and deeper blacks.
Software Enhancements
On the software side, the QM7K features a new color optimization algorithm for improved accuracy. The Halo Control System also adds a bi-directional 23-bit backlight controller, allowing for granular control of over 65,000 levels of brightness for each LED. Furthermore, there’s a new algorithm that intelligently optimizes incoming SDR signals at near HDR level.
Key Features and Pricing
The QM7K comes with Bang & Olufen speakers and select sizes ship with a pedestal stand. Sizes range from 55 inches to 115 inches, with prices fluctuating from around $1,300 for the smallest model to $20,000 for the 115-inch version. Traditional sizes are available now at retailers nationwide, with the larger models coming soon. Some purchases come with a $500 Visa gift card, a nice bonus for customers.
