Since 2022, Apple has been offering Major League Baseball games through the Apple TV app, and this service will continue into 2025 with new programming at no extra cost. The company announced that “Friday Night Baseball” will return on March 28, along with a three-part documentary series on the 2024 World Series and a new immersive video focused on the Yankees for the Vision Pro.

The opening weekend double-header on March 28 features the Baltimore Orioles vs. the Toronto Blue Jays at 6:30 PM ET, followed by the New York Mets vs. the Houston Astros at 7:30 PM ET. Apple’s season coverage will also include a rematch of the 2024 World Series between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers, a game between the Texas Rangers and the Astros, and matches between the Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies and the Dodgers and the Mets. Subscribers to Apple TV+ will have access to MLB shows like MLB Big Inning and Countdown to First Pitch throughout the week, as well as game recaps and replays of classic games. Notably, Apple plans to release several narrative documentary series this season, including Fight For Glory: 2024 World Series, which covers the journeys of the Dodgers and Yankees to the World Series and their post-season experiences. Additionally, a short film titled VIP: Yankee Stadium will be available in Apple’s Immersive Video format, offering an all-access pass to Yankee Stadium for Vision Pro owners who are also Yankees fans.

Although Apple has reportedly considered buying the rights to NFL Prime Ticket, its current sports programming is limited to Major League Soccer and Major League Baseball. “Friday Night Baseball” launched for free in the Apple TV app in 2022 but was moved behind the Apple TV+ paywall in 2023. This subscription requirement remains in place for 2025, but Apple is clearly attempting to enhance the value proposition by offering additional baseball content this season.
