Samsung has been diligently working on its latest Android 15-based One UI 7.0 software, and the next iteration is expected to be One UI 8.0. Notably, this implies that there will be no intermediate version between these two updates.

Typically, Samsung releases its One UI X software updates in three stages: One UI X.0, One UI X.1, and One UI X.1.1. However, in this instance, the company appears to be deviating from its traditional approach by skipping two versions.

According to Ice Universe, the successor to One UI 7.0 will indeed be One UI 8.0, suggesting that Samsung does not plan to release the One UI 7.1 and One UI 7.1.1 updates.

Samsung initiated the One UI 7 beta program in December 2024 for the Galaxy S24 series and has since released four beta updates. A fifth beta update is anticipated to be released soon. Earlier this year, the company launched the flagship Galaxy S25 series, which comes pre-installed with Android 15 (One UI 7). Additionally, the company has introduced the budget-friendly Galaxy F06 and other devices powered by Android 15-based One UI 7, while older flagship devices await the update.

Meanwhile, several new One UI 7 beta builds have been spotted on the test server for the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy S23 devices. This indicates that Samsung may expand the beta program to include these devices as well.

As Samsung has not made an official announcement regarding this development, it will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds.
