Introduction to Mobile World Congress 2025
The Mobile World Congress 2025 has officially commenced in Barcelona, and Google is showcasing two new AI features that will start rolling out to Android devices later this month.
New AI Features
The first feature, Live Video, was initially introduced at I/O 2024. This tool utilizes Gemini’s multi-modal capabilities, allowing users to show the chatbot what their phone’s camera sees. For instance, Gemini can answer questions about mid-century modern decor and provide suggestions on how to apply that knowledge to pottery, as seen in the demo shared by Google.

A demo of the Live Video feature is available, showcasing its capabilities in action.
Screensharing Feature
The other new feature, screensharing, functions as expected. Users can share their screen with Gemini to ask questions about what they see on a website or app. Although Google is not introducing groundbreaking features, the convenience of accessing these capabilities without needing a separate app is a notable advantage. ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode has offered live video and screensharing since last year.
Availability of New Features
Google will begin rolling out live video and screensharing to Gemini Advanced subscribers starting later this month. The Gemini Advanced feature is included in the company’s $20 per month Google One AI Premium plan. Additionally, Verizon has recently added this subscription as a perk for some of its plans.
