Samsung Smart TV users are experiencing a frustrating issue where their TVs repeatedly display Smart Hub privacy pop-ups, disrupting their viewing experience.

When setting up a new Samsung Smart TV, users are taken through a setup process that includes a Smart Hub privacy notice, which informs them that the company collects user data to provide a better experience. Although users can opt in or out at their convenience, those who opted in are now being reminded of their privacy status, while those who opted out are receiving notifications that the company will contact them in 15 days, which seems unusual and inconvenient.

A Samsung QN65 TV owner in Dallas, Texas, reported on BlueSky that their TV started showing a notification regarding user data collection. Despite dismissing the notification, it continued to reappear throughout the day, interrupting their viewing experience.

According to reports, this issue may be model-specific or region-specific, as a Samsung S90C OLED TV in India does not display any similar notifications, even after opting out of Smart Hub’s user data collection service.

A Samsung Smart TV user from the US shared an image of the notification, which can be seen below.

Meanwhile, users who are facing this issue can easily resolve it by navigating to Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Terms & Privacy > Privacy Choices > Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and then opting out of Smart Hub’s Viewing Information Services and Interest-Based Advertisements Service Privacy Notice.

Users can follow these steps to get rid of the repeated notifications and enjoy a seamless watching experience.
