Introduction to Kia’s Latest EV Models

Kia has officially launched its first electric sedan and hatchback, the EV4, at the 2025 Kia EV Day event held in Tarragona, Spain. Initially, the company had unveiled the EV4 concept at CES last year, alongside several other models.

Features and Specifications of the EV4

Buyers have the option to choose between two battery variants: the standard 58.3 kWh and the long-range 81.4 kWh. The long-range sedan can travel up to 630 km (391.5 miles) on a single charge, while the standard battery sedan has a range of 430 km (267 miles). The hatchback version boasts a range of 590 km (366.6 miles). The vehicle is equipped with a 150 kW motor, which can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds for the standard battery variant and 7.7 seconds for the long-range variant. Both models have a top speed of 170 km/h.

Advanced Technology and Safety Features

The EV4 models feature Kia’s Digital Key 2.0 system, allowing owners to control certain functions remotely through an app on up to 15 different devices, including compatibility with Apple Watch. Additionally, the electric vehicles come equipped with Kia’s Highway Driving Assist technology, which offers features such as Driver Attention Warning, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Following Assist, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, and Remote Parking Assist Entry. Furthermore, an advanced feature known as Driving Package F+ utilizes cameras and radars to detect hazardous situations and assist drivers in maneuvering their vehicles to safety.

Production and Availability

Kia will commence manufacturing the EV4 sedan in Korea, with initial availability starting in March. The five-door hatchback version, intended for sale in Europe, will be produced in Slovakia during the second half of the year. Although the company has not announced when the EV4 will be manufactured for the North American market, it has confirmed that the vehicle will be released in the United States.

Introduction of the Concept EV2

In addition to the EV4, Kia has also unveiled the Concept EV2 during the event. The EV2 is described as compact and city-friendly, featuring an expandable interior with folding second-row seats. Kia plans to sell the EV2 in Europe and other regions starting in 2026.
