With a new month on the horizon, Sony is preparing to update the lineup of games available to all PlayStation Plus members, which they can claim and keep as long as their subscription remains active. From March 4 to March 31, subscribers will have the opportunity to claim Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Sonic Colors: Ultimate, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection.
The standout title this month is Dragon Age: The Veilguard (PS5), which marks a significant release after a decade-long wait between new installments in the BioWare series. The delay was partly due to the studio rebooting its work on the latest title multiple times. As an action RPG and direct sequel to 2014’s Dragon Age Inquisition, Veilguard received generally positive reviews, with notable appreciation for its visuals and character details.
However, Dragon Age: The Veilguard did not meet BioWare parent EA’s sales expectations, attracting 1.5 million players in its first two months, which is about half of EA’s anticipated figure for that period. This includes players who accessed the game through the EA Play Pro subscription service, making it unclear how many copies have been sold. The disappointing sales performance might explain why Dragon Age: The Veilguard is being added to the PS Plus Monthly Games lineup just over four months after its release.
Sonic Colors: Ultimate (PS4) is a remastered version of a platformer originally released on the Wii in 2010. Meanwhile, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection (PS4 and PS5) includes 13 classic TMNT games released by Konami between 1989 and 1994, including the classic Turtles in Time. The collection features various quality of life updates, such as online and local multiplayer, rewind functionality, save-anywhere capability, and button remapping, along with concept art and historic TMNT media content.
Before these new titles join the PS Plus Essential lineup on March 4, subscribers can still claim February’s games, which include Payday 3, High on Life, and Pac-Man World Re-Pac.
