Samsung continues to roll out the February 2025 security update to all eligible Galaxy devices, encompassing flagship S series, foldable, and mid-range devices. The company’s 2021 flagships, including the S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra, are now receiving the security patch for the first time in any country.
So far, numerous devices have been updated with the latest patch, and the Galaxy S21 series has joined the list, with the recent February 2025 security update spotted in European countries, including Germany.
The Android 14-based February update for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra has been identified with the G991BXXSEGYA2, G996BXXSEGYA2, and G998BXXSEGYA2 build numbers.
Although security updates are typically small and do not introduce significant features or changes, they play a crucial role in protecting the device’s overall security and enhancing core functionality. The update incorporates various fixes from previous versions, aiming to provide a safer and more secure user experience while safeguarding the device against external threats and attacks.
