Samsung has not yet begun rolling out the Android 15-based One UI 7 to its older Galaxy devices, even as reports suggest that the One UI 8 is on the horizon.
The company first launched the Android 15 (One UI 7) beta program for the Galaxy S24 series in early December last year, and since then, it has released three beta updates. Currently, Samsung is planning to release the One UI 7 beta 4 next week.
Last month, Samsung officially unveiled One UI 7, which is based on Android 15, for the Galaxy S25 series. Additionally, the company has recently launched the affordable Galaxy F06 smartphone, which comes pre-installed with One UI 7, while older flagship devices are still in development.
Despite this, there is no official word on the stable One UI 7 rollout for older Galaxy devices. However, a reliable tipster, Ice Universe, claims that One UI 8, based on Android 16, will arrive sooner than expected.
In comparison, Google has announced that it will release the stable Android 16 by the end of Q2 2025. Typically, Samsung releases its major One UI X update about a month after the latest Android OS release, suggesting that One UI 8 should arrive at least in early Q3 this year.
The tipster has recently stated that One UI 8 will launch earlier than anticipated, although no specific release date was provided. Given that Samsung has yet to expand One UI 7, it will be interesting to see how the company manages to roll out two major updates on time.
