According to recent reports released on Friday, Amazon and Apple are facing challenges in integrating generative AI technology into their respective digital assistants, Alexa and Siri.

Initially, Amazon planned to unveil its updated Alexa at an event in New York on February 26. However, the company now intends to postpone the release of its generative AI-powered Alexa until March or a later date, as reported by the Washington Post.

In a separate development, Bloomberg reports that Apple’s efforts to revamp Siri with AI are being hindered by engineering issues and software glitches. As a result, some new features planned for release in April may be delayed until May or later.

Amazon and Apple aimed to launch these updated products promptly to stay competitive with next-generation AI voice assistants, such as OpenAI’s Advanced Voice Mode and Google’s Gemini Live. However, it appears that their plans are not unfolding as intended.
