The most likely candidate for this new device is the fourth generation iPhone SE, which was previously speculated to arrive a week earlier. Instead, Apple has opted to release new Beats headphones.

It has been three years since Apple released the last iPhone SE, priced at $429, which may seem like a lengthy gap given its significance as a vital product in massive markets like China and India. This time around, Apple is expected to abandon the Touch ID home button in favor of Face ID authentication.

The upcoming iPhone SE is expected to be powered by the same chip found in the iPhone 16, allowing it to run Apple’s generative AI offering, Apple Intelligence. The device is due to arrive shortly after Alibaba confirmed its collaboration with Apple to bring AI features to iPhones in China.
