Samsung Prioritizes User Safety and Device Security
Consistent Delivery of Security Updates
Samsung considers its users’ safety and Galaxy device’s security as its top priority, which is why the company consistently delivers security updates for its Galaxy smartphones. The Galaxy S21 series has now been shifted to the quarterly security update section.
Update Frequency and Samsung’s Commitment
Substantially, Samsung always delivers software updates according to the frequency the device has been kept in. The update frequency is divided into three subdivisions: monthly, quarterly, and biannual security updates. Following its long-running tradition of proceeding with updates to devices according to their update frequency, Samsung often performs certain changes within this list.

Update Frequency Change for 2021 Flagships
Meanwhile, Samsung recently changed the frequency of its 2021 flagships: the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra, which were earlier placed among the list of devices getting monthly security updates. Now, all three smartphones have been placed in the quarterly security updates list, suggesting that Samsung will offer security updates for the Galaxy S21 lineup once every three months.
Improving Functionality and Performance
It’s impressive that Samsung not only brings various impressive changes into its flagships but also aims to improve the overall functionality and performance of its older Galaxy smartphone lineup as well. The company has already offered the details of the latest February 2025 security bulletin, allowing users to know exactly what’s been fixed.
