Introduction to the "Created in BRICS+" Session

At the RICS International Forum, the "Created in BRICS+" session brought together thought leaders and technologists from BRICS+ nations to discuss the impact of artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and digital trust frameworks on creative economies. The session highlighted how these technologies are redefining the creative industries and the importance of cybersecurity in ensuring a secure, ethical, and sustainable transformation.

The Growth of Creative Industries

The creative industries are expanding at a rate of almost 15% faster than traditional sectors, contributing over $1.6 trillion to the global economy and accounting for more than 4% of global GDP. However, this shift also introduces new risks around data security, intellectual property (IP), and digital sovereignty. According to Cybersecurity Ventures, global cybercrime losses are projected to reach $10.5 trillion annually by 2025, with creative and entertainment sectors increasingly targeted.

The Role of BRICS+ Countries

BRICS+ countries are well-positioned to become global hubs of creative innovation, backed by digital trust and secure collaboration. As Vladislav Kreinin, Senior Vice President and Director of Marketing and Communications at Sberbank, noted, "We are moving from the logic of Made in to Created in—an economy where value is defined by ideas, innovation, and meaning." The integration of AI and blockchain is fueling growth and building transparency into creative ecosystems.

AI and Blockchain Powering Secure Creative Collaboration

The session highlighted how BRICS+ economies are leveraging AI and blockchain to power secure creative collaboration. Sber’s AI platforms, such as GigaChat, Kandinsky, and SymFormer, demonstrate how generative tools can assist in producing content across text, visuals, and sound. The world’s first AI-assisted opera, Mandragora, performed at the Mariinsky Theatre in 2025, is an example of how human creativity and machine intelligence can coexist.

Cyber Governance: The Next Frontier

As creative industries become more digitized, data protection, AI model integrity, and cross-border regulatory compliance emerge as key priorities. Recent studies from the OECD and WIPO emphasize the need for responsible AI governance, ethical data sourcing, and copyright transparency to evolve in parallel with innovation. BRICS+ nations have an opportunity to set global standards in cyber governance and IP protection.

Conclusion

The intersection of creativity, technology, and security will define the global influence of BRICS+ economies. In the creative economy of the future, innovation will thrive only where digital trust is assured. As the "Created in BRICS+" vision unfolds, it is essential to prioritize cybersecurity, AI governance, and digital trust frameworks to ensure a secure, ethical, and sustainable transformation.
