Samsung Introduces New Feature to One UI 7: Disable Auto-Dimming Below 5% Battery
Samsung has recently introduced a significant change with its newest Android 15-based One UI 7, which has impressed Galaxy audiences. The best part among those features is the addition of the ability to turn off automatic dimming of the screen when the battery drops below 5%.
The Frustrating Situation
For a long time, Galaxy fans have been facing a frustrating situation: each time the battery percentage drops to 5%, the system processes the display brightness to be reduced so severely that it’s next to impossible to see the content on the screen when using the phone in daylight.
One UI 7 Lets Galaxy Users Disable Auto-Dimming Below 5% Battery
Now, Galaxy users will not be facing such situations, thanks to the latest One UI 7 version. Samsung has added a new toggle: Auto Dim Screen, which can be easily turned off and will not reduce the screen’s brightness when the battery percentage reaches below 5%.
How to Disable Auto-Dimming Below 5% Battery
To disable auto-dimming below 5% battery, follow these steps:
- Open the ‘Settings’ App
- Go into the ‘Battery’ Option
- Scroll down and turn off ‘Auto dim screen’
- Done.
Example of Auto-Dimming Below 5% Battery
The auto-dimming feature can be seen in the image below, where the screen brightness is reduced significantly when the battery percentage drops to 5%.

Availability of One UI 7
The latest One UI 7 version is expected to be available on the Galaxy S25 series, which is scheduled to arrive on 7th February in retail stores. While Samsung could possibly release its stable Android skin for the older flagships, the S24 and S23 series, in early February, the newest version is expected to bring impactful changes to the Galaxy smartphones in the future.
