Samsung’s newest 200MP camera sensor, the ISOCELL HP5, is already generating interest, with rumors suggesting that Oppo will utilize this sensor in its upcoming Oppo Find X9 Pro smartphone.
The South Korean technology giant is poised to launch its next-generation 200MP camera sensor, which is expected to make its debut on a rival’s flagship device before being featured on any Galaxy smartphone. Previously, reports indicated that Oppo planned to integrate Samsung’s ISOCELL camera sensor into its flagship Find X9 series.
A recent report from the reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed that the Oppo Find X9 Pro will boast a triple rear camera setup, comprising a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera.
The key aspect of the report is that the phone’s periscope telephoto lens will utilize Samsung’s upcoming ISOCELL HP5 sensor. According to reports, this sensor is a 200MP, 28nm sensor paired with 0.5μm pixels and a 1/1.56-inch optical size. The sensor also supports DCG-HDR (Dual Conversion Gain HDR). If the leaked specifications come to fruition, this will be a relatively large sensor, particularly for a periscope telephoto, compared to the ½.52-inch sensor found in the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
If the report proves accurate, the Oppo Find X9 Pro will be the first smartphone to feature Samsung’s latest camera sensor. Currently, there is no information on whether Samsung plans to use this sensor in any of its upcoming Galaxy flagships, but it will be interesting to see how this develops.
