Samsung Display has unveiled its latest technological advancements and products at the Augmented World Expo (AWE) USA 2025, including an RGB OLEDoS screen designed specifically for XR headsets.
Although Samsung has not yet officially launched its XR headset, the company has introduced an XR-ready OLEDoS screen with a peak brightness of 20,000 nits at the AWE USA 2025. For those who may be unaware, AWE USA is a premier global event for the XR industry, encompassing Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR), taking place in Long Beach, California, from June 10 to June 12.

During the event, Samsung Display showcased its flagship products, including RCB OLEDoS and White OLEDoS, to demonstrate its capabilities. According to Jae Beom Choi, Executive Vice President and Head of M-P/J Division at Samsung Display, “Our participation in AWE aims to highlight the vast potential of OLEDoS to consumers and reinforce our position as a key partner in the spatial computing ecosystem.”
The 1.3-inch RGB OLEDoS panel, specifically designed for XR headsets, boasts a 4,200 PPI resolution and 20,000 nits peak brightness. The company has incorporated Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology, which utilizes the principles of convex lenses to enhance brightness and viewing angle, resulting in a high-end panel design.
Samsung also introduced a 1.4-inch RGB OLEDoS panel, featuring an industry-leading resolution of 5,000 PPI, with three times more pixels than a 4K TV, enhancing visual clarity. Additionally, the company showcased OLEDoS microdisplays, including White OLEDoS and RGB OLEDoS, which are 0.62 inches in size and have a pixel density of 2,600 PPI.
