Samsung is rapidly deploying the January 2025 security update for its Galaxy smartphones, with the majority of devices already covered worldwide. The update has started rolling out in the US, with the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A53 units receiving the update.

The Galaxy A54 models have already received the security patch in European countries, and Samsung is now expanding this update to the US, making it available for both carrier-locked and unlocked units in the country. The January 2025 security update for the carrier-locked Galaxy A54 has arrived with the A546USQSACYA3 and A546VSQSACYA2 (Verizon) version numbers, while carrier-unlocked units can be recognized with the A546U1UESACYA2 version number.

Similarly, the Samsung Galaxy A53 units are also receiving the same update in the US, identified with the A536VSQSEEYA4 version number, but it’s currently only available for carrier-locked (Verizon) models. It’s expected that the update will reach the unlocked units soon.

According to the details listed in the Android patch for January 2025, the update primarily focuses on providing a more secure experience to users by integrating fixes from both Google and Samsung for all the security vulnerabilities addressed in the previous version, while also protecting the device against potential threats.

The update also brings performance optimizations, adds stability and reliability to the overall system behavior, applies the latest security patches, and offers improved features that in turn offer a more stable, smooth, and optimized user experience.
