The highly anticipated 2025 software reveal from Apple is just around the corner. Scheduled for June 9, the Worldwide Developers’ Conference (WWDC) keynote promises to unveil significant updates, including iOS 19, iPadOS 19, macOS 16, watchOS 12, tvOS 19, and visionOS 3.
This year’s event is expected to be substantial, with leaks suggesting a major visual overhaul, one of the biggest in Apple’s history, as well as new features related to Apple Intelligence. The redesign is rumored to draw inspiration from Apple’s mixed reality headset.
Visual Redesign
According to reports, Apple is planning a platform-wide visual overhaul. The goal is to create a more unified design language across all Apple devices, making it easier for users to switch between them. The last significant macOS makeover was 2020’s Big Sur, while the iPhone’s software was last overhauled with iOS 7 in 2013.
Front Page Tech’s Jon Prosser suggests that the redesign may include (nearly) round icons on the home screen and in Control Center, as well as a redesigned tab view within apps and the search box in Messages moved to the bottom of the screen.
The iPad Goes to Work
The iPad Pro may finally start to feel like a professional device with the upcoming software update. The high-end tablet has been held back by its software, despite its capable hardware. This year’s update is expected to focus on productivity, with improved multitasking and app window management.
Apple Intelligence
A significant portion of the keynote is expected to be dedicated to Apple’s AI advances, including improvements to existing features and new ones. ChatGPT took the world by storm over two years ago, and every tech company has been obsessed with AI since.
