The month of June is set to be an exciting time for the gaming industry, with the highly anticipated release of the Nintendo Switch 2. Adding to the excitement, Summer Game Fest will also take place in early June, featuring a slew of showcases, including Summer Game Fest Live and the Xbox Games Showcase, as well as the ever-popular Day of the Devs.
While the current lineup is already impressive, there’s a possibility that Nintendo and Sony may still announce a Direct or State of Play, respectively, in the coming weeks. Additionally, Ubisoft has yet to announce a Forward event for this year, potentially due to the delay of several big games. We’re also eagerly awaiting news on a potential Devolver Direct, which could bring updates on titles like Baby Steps and Skate Story.
As things stand, Summer Game Fest is scheduled to run from June 6 to June 8. With E3 no longer taking place, SGF has become the de facto replacement, offering a plethora of announcements and updates until Gamescom in August. We’ll continue to update this preview as more details emerge, including additional events and embedded videos for each stream.
Engadget will be attending the in-person event in Los Angeles, providing hands-on impressions of the games featured during SGF Live. For those watching from home, we’ve compiled a breakdown of how to watch Summer Game Fest 2025 and what to expect from the event.
