Introduction to HP’s OmniBook 5 Series Upgrade

HP is providing a significant upgrade to its OmniBook 5 Series laptop lineup. At Computex 2025, the company unveiled the latest models equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X and X Plus chips, which offer improved energy efficiency and performance. The 14-inch version of the new OmniBook 5 Series starts at $799, while the 16-inch model begins at $849.

Enhanced Features and Performance

Previously, to enjoy the benefits of a Snapdragon chip in an HP laptop, consumers had to opt for the more expensive OmniBook X models, which retail for at least $1,000. Now, HP offers more affordable options with the OmniBook 5 Series, which still leverages the advantages of ARM processors. Although the OmniBook 5 Series may not match the OmniBook X in terms of power, it still provides access to Copilot+’s AI features, including Recall, Click-to-Do, and an enhanced Windows Search experience.

Display, Battery Life, and Connectivity

The OmniBook 5 Series boasts a 2K OLED display with a battery life of up to 34 hours and rapid charging capabilities, reaching 50% in just 30 minutes. The laptop can connect to a single external 5K monitor or two 4K displays. Additionally, the OmniBook 5 features a 1080p IR camera paired with Audio Boost 2.0, offering improved sound quality and AI-powered noise removal for seamless virtual meetings.

Availability and Pricing

The 14-inch OmniBook 5 with Snapdragon will be available initially on Amazon and Microsoft starting in June. In July, the 14-inch model will be sold on HP’s website, Best Buy, and Costco. The 16-inch version will also be available in July through HP and its retail partners.
