Samsung is set to unveil its first-ever smartphone with a tri-fold design, dubbed the Galaxy G Fold, later this year, featuring a unique form factor; a recent report indicates that it has been spotted on the BIS certification database, suggesting an imminent launch.
The launch of the Galaxy G Fold is unlikely to coincide with the second Galaxy Unpacked event, which will feature the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7; instead, it is rumored to share the same 25W charging capabilities as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 model. The upcoming tri-fold smartphone has allegedly been listed on India’s BIS certification database, hinting at its potential availability in the country.
According to the BIS database, three battery models of the Galaxy G Fold have been showcased, bearing model numbers: EB-BF965ABE, EB-BF968ABE, and EB-BF969ABE.

Given that the Galaxy G Fold is expected to be released in limited markets, with South Korea being one of them, the recent spotting on the BIS database suggests that India may also be included in the launch plans. However, the global availability of the device remains uncertain.
As Samsung’s first tri-fold smartphone, the Galaxy G Fold is set to face competition from Huawei’s Mate XT, a rival triple foldable device, in various aspects, including display. While Samsung will introduce an innovative folding form factor with advanced folding angles, the G Fold is reported to weigh the same as the Huawei Mate XT.
